Dog ate chicken bones?

2 days ago my dog got into the garbage when we were gone he ate chicken and a lot of it including the bones! Yesterday he had extreme diarrhea watery and even projectile at times (thank goodness he was outside) I thought it was maybe just because he was not used to this food and maybe it is. During the night he had diarrhea all over the floor and there was quite a bit of blood in it. Other than this though he is acting normal and I do not have the money for excessive vet bills is this something that may p or should I take him in?
